Comments - This map is a 2 page spread taken from the Atlas of Massachusetts published in 1871 by Walling and Gray. The maps in their atlas were probably based in large part on the 1861 state wall map produced by Walling. An important feature of the 1871 map is the location of principal houses - each  represented by a dot - on rural roads.
